About

A practice for demanding lives and hard seasons.

StoneCurrent is led by a clinician who has lived on both sides of pressure: executive leadership and mental health care.

The practice

StoneCurrent Therapy is a private practice serving adults throughout Michigan, with telehealth appointments. The focus is physicians, nurses, attorneys, educators, administrators, executives, first responders, and other professionals dealing with sustained pressure, transition, relationship strain, and the cost of being the person others rely on. Insurance and private-pay options are available.

The name is simple. Stone for what holds. Current for what keeps moving. The work helps you stay grounded while life keeps changing.

The clinician

More than 25 years in the therapy chair. Prior careers that know real-world pressure.

Before becoming a mental health counselor and therapist, the clinician worked in manufacturing, business management, and executive team building—including running multimillion-dollar organizations with staffing in the hundreds across the Midwest and East Coast.

For more than twenty-five years, the work has been in counseling, public education, and private-sector mental health. That diverse background provides a practical understanding of the pressures professionals encounter both in and outside the workplace. The people who tend to get the most from this practice are often rising executives and high-responsibility professionals dealing with life, family, and career pressure at the same time.

He is also an author, including Warrior to Elder, a book about moving from proving and force into wisdom, stewardship, and a steadier kind of strength.

Approach and training

The work is guided by two durable ideas executives already recognize. From Dale Carnegie: begin with genuine interest in the person, speak to their aims, and never lead with criticism. From The Art of War: know yourself, read the terrain, and stop spending force where it cannot win.

Those ideas sit inside licensed clinical practice. Tracks often include MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Jon Kabat-Zinn), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and other methods as they fit. The clinician is also a Master Hypnotherapist, used when old patterns are stuck and talk alone is not enough.

Client feedback

Across a multi-year history in practice, client reviews have been consistently five-star. That matters less as a marketing line and more as a signal that people feel understood, respected, and well cared for in the work.

What guides the work

  • Privacy: Boundaries get explained plainly. Secrecy is never used as a marketing line.
  • Depth: What hurts now matters, and so do the patterns underneath.
  • Agency: You stay the author of your decisions.
  • Clarity: Exact language beats jargon and hype.
  • Integrity: This is therapy, not coaching dressed up as care.
